KOLKATA: Fifteen students of the Calcutta Blind School aged between 19 and 70 years along with two of their teachers will be trained in dhwani or sound therapy as part of "cosmic healing" by Omkar Group of Universal Healing president Bela Batra. The training will take place at Batra's residence once a week for three months from June 21. "It is our first attempt to do phonetic translations from various languages into Braille.
The aim is to make students independent and confident by training them in simple self-healing therapies which will help them enhance their concentration and energy levels," said the 42-year-old expert. According to her, Dhwani is a concept of a crystal clear sound heard by the person doing the therapy for rendering the pain. "Even a small scratch on the paper with a pen or pencil creates a vibration which can generate positive energy to cure any kind of ailment in micro-seconds," said Batra. Coloured pens and stickers are used on paper to cure diseases ranging from simple cold and cough to cancer and Parkinsonism. Batra believes that every living or non-living thing denotes a specific power. "Our foundation is spiritual but it does not preach any religion. I am no Mataji and my work can be explained scientifically," she said. Batra claims to have been successful in reaching out to more than 1,000 persons across the world through her website. "I want to turn my knowledge into an institution so that skills can be imparted to each and every individual, but I don't want to commercialise the whole thing," she said. Batra feels that training visually impaired students is an initiative to that end.
